Install a Network Printer (Windows XP)

Step 1: Click Start, Printers and Faxes
Step 2: Click Add Printer in the upper left hand corner of the window.
Step 3: Click Next.
Step 4: Select Local printer attached to this computer, uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer and click Next.
Step 5: Click Next.
Step 6: ChooseCreate a new port.
Step 7: In the drop-down box, chooseStandard TCP/IP Port.
Step 8: Click Next.
Step 9: Click Next.
Step 10: Enter the IP address of the network printer.
Step 11: Click Next.
Step 12: Click Finish.
Step 13: Select the manufacturer and model of the network printer.
Step 14: Click Next.
Step 15: Occasionally, you may be asked if you wish to use the existing driver. Select Keep existing driver (recommended)
Step 16: Click Next.
Step 17: Enter a printer name and select if you wish to use the printer as the default printer.
Step 18: Click Next.
Step 19: Select Do not share this printer.
Step 20: Click Next.
Step 21: Select if you would like to print a test page (recommended).
Step 22: Click Next.
Step 23: Click Finish.



Install a Network Printer (Windows 2000)

Step 1: Click Start, Settings, Printers.
Step 2: Double-click Add Printer.
Step 3: Click Next.
Step 4: Make sure Network printer is selected and click Next.
Step 5: Select Type the printer name, or click Browse for a Printer and click Next. It may take a minute or two to build the list of shared printers.
Step 6: Double-click NDPS Printers.
Step 7: Double-click NDPS Controlled Access Printers.
Step 8: Double-click UNCCharlotte.
Step 9: Double-click UNCCharlotte again.
Step 10: Double-click Users.
Step 11: Double-click Printers.
Step 12: Select the desired printer and click Next.
Step 13: Choose whether you want this printer to be your default printer or not and click Next.
Step 14: Click Finish.
