Managing Documents from a Citrix Session
When working in an application via Citrix, you will save and open documents a bit differently.
This is an example of how the Save As... or Open... dialog boxes will look when you click File | Save As... inside a Citrix session.

Some things to consider
- Citrix users cannot store documents on the Citrix Session Desktop server itself.
- Access has been blocked to the local drives on the Citrix servers for security reasons. If you attempt to access these drives, you will get an "access denied" message.
- Instead, you may save documents to your local hard drive. The Citrix web client maps to you local hard drives. This must be done manually with either the Citrix client for Mac OS X and the Citrix client for Java on OS X. These mapped local drives will appear with a drive mapping such as "C$ on 'Client' (V:)", "D$ on 'Client' (D:)", etc. like in the above image.
- You may also save documents to your (H:) drive just as you would if you were working on a locally-installed application.
Saving to your local drives
The drives that appear in the image above called C$ on Client (V:), D$, etc. are actually the local drives on the computer sitting physically in front of you. The Citrix web client maps these drives automatically when you connect to a Citrix session - you can allow or disallow this in the window that comes up when the Citrix client asks for access to your local hard drives:

If you wanted to save to your local Desktop, for example, you would click C$ on Client (V:)\documents and settings\username\desktop.
Saving to your H: Drive
Your (H:) drive is mapped to a folder on an ITS server especially for your use. Saving to your (H:) drive while in a Citrix session works exactly the same as if you were saving from your local computer.
