First time XenApp users need to install the XenApp Client
Prior to the first time you connect to XenApp delivered applications, you will need to install the XenApp Client. This only needs to be done once -before the first time you connnect to XenApp.
If you are not using a Windows or Macintosh computer, click on the link to the XenApp Client download site to select the appropriate XenApp Client for your operating system.
Connecting to XenApp from on/off campus
To connect to XenApp, go to http://www.uncc.edu/citrix. Log in with your NinerNET user name and password.
Accessing/Storing files using XenApp
IMPORTANT! When connected to a XenApp session, the server automatically maps drives back to the local hard drives (in the computer physically in front of you) so that you can open and save files locally while in the XenApp session. The first time you try to open or save a document, you will be asked for permission to access your local hard drive. When you allow this, it is only for the current session, unless you choose "Don't ask me again". Once the drives are mapped, XenApp assigns a location for your local/network drives and will appear for example as “C$ on Client (V:\)” and so on in the XenApp session. For further explanation on how to handle documents while in a XenApp session, click here.
Saving to your H: Drive
Your (H:) drive is mapped to a folder on an ITS server especially for your use. Saving to your (H:) drive while in a XenApp session works exactly the same as if you were saving from your local computer.
