Finance Module

In order to be granted access to the Banner Finance module, please follow the steps below:

  1. Attend the Banner Finance training classes based on the type of Banner Finance access desired. Review the guide at the following link to map responsibilities to classes required http://training.uncc.edu/bantrain/FinanceRef.htm.

  2. Staff should print Finance training manuals from the Banner training website http://training.uncc.edu/bantrain/bandocs.htm and bring them to class.

  3. A signed Confidentiality Statement must be on file.  This is handed out and collected during the Navigation (BANNAV) class and it isn’t module specific so if one has already been filled out for Banner Student training, that requirement has been met.

  4. Staff will be instructed on how to fill out and route the Request for Banner Finance Access form during the Introduction to Banner Finance (FIN101) class.
    Note:  Access to Banner Finance requires the completion of the form with appropriate approvals and is not automatic upon completion of the class.

  5. After access has been granted, questions or problems with access or using Banner should be directed to the Help Center.

Student Module

In order to be granted access to the Banner Student module, please follow the steps below:

  1. We strongly suggest staff attend at least the Navigation and Student Forms & Queries classes in order to learn how to navigate the forms in INB.

  2. We need a signed Confidentiality Statement on file.  This might have already been done if staff attended Finance training.

  3. Trained staff in the office will need to train staff on how to access information in Banner, which forms to use, and how to use them. Staff should print Student training manuals from the Banner training website (http://training.uncc.edu/bantrain, look for Student Services 1, Student Services 2 and Advising manuals).

  4. After steps 1-3 have been completed, the staff’s supervisor should contact the Help Center or use HelpDesk Online to request access for you to the forms learned in the Banner Student training classes.  At that point the Student team will be able to grant access to the forms in Banner.

  5. After access has been granted, if staff have any questions or problems with Banner they should contact the Help Center.

Financial Aid Module

In order to be granted access to the Banner Financial Aid module, please follow the steps below:

  1. We strongly suggest staff attend at least the Navigation classes in order to learn how to navigate the forms in INB.

  2. We need a signed Banner Confidentiality Statement on file.

  3. After steps 1-2 have been completed, an email from the staff’s supervisor should be sent to Michael Coyle in the Student Financial Aid Office requesting access to the Financial Aid forms in Banner.

  4. After access has been granted, if staff have any questions or problems with Banner they should contact the Help Center.
